MINING COMPANIES ACT.

Tho Government propose this session to introduce an amendment to the Mining Companies Act, and it will follow on the lines laid down by the meeting of Keefton miners. Provision will be made for a yearly .statement of the Company, and for the Court to appoint a liquidator in lieu of creditors. Managers are not to act as sharebrokers, and not to disclose information to unauthorised persons. The proceeds of the sale of forfeited shares are to be applied to pay the calls made, as well as those due. The Ace is to be made applicable to foreign companies incorporated outside New Zealand, such companies to comply with the Act within six months.
