SKETCH OF ITS PROPOSALS. A TRAMWAY TO THE PUHIPUHI FOREST. (From "Auckland Star," Correspondent.) Wellington, July 13.

Mr Mitchelson has a slight hope that tteh c second reading of the lie presentation Bill will bo carried on Tuesday, and he will then bring down the Public Works Statement on ' following or same night. The Statement has been ready some time. In it provision is made for the spending of £30,000 on a tramway to Puhipuhi Forest on the same terms as the Otago Central. The North Island Trunk is splendidly 1 ' provided for, and from what I can gather' the Statement will give satisfaction in Auckland.
