The Premier says fchafc negotiations hav c been proceeding for some time between tteh c Government and fche \arious Australian colonies as to fcbe erecting of lighthouses on the Snaies and Auckland Islands, and at. present it seemed chab New Zealand would have to erect the necessaiy lighthouses at her own expens-e, assisted by a small contiibution from Victoria.
