Watson i« in custody in the Tibooburra lock-up awaiting his trial ior manslaughter. Notwithstanding the very successful experiment carried out in October last by bho representatives of M. Pasteur for the' prevention of the disease ofantlnax in sheep and cattle, no arrangement, ha& yet been made for the vaccination of stock in New South Wales^ on the system then demonstrated. This is due to the fact of some misunderstanding having occurred betweon M. Pasteur's representatives and the members of the Royal Rabbit Commission. M. Pasteur will have nothing further to do with the Government of New South Wales, but the Chief Inspector of Stock, Mr Bruce, is hopeful that some arrangement will be made before the dangerous season pets in with the hot weather. He believes that M. Pasteur will appoint an accredited agent in the colonies, who will deal directly with owners and vaccinate their sheep ab a reasonable rate per head.
