SPECIAL MEETING OF THE LICENSING COMMITTEE RE - DATING CERTIFICATE FORA PUBLICANS' LICENSE.
On Monday afternoon last an extra-* ordinary meeting of the Obineranri Licensing Comipittee was held. Present —Messrs E. Ed warcta (Chairman), F. Cock, Ritchie, and J. Barrett. The busi* ness was to consider the advisability of redating the certificate to Maurice Power,, who had let his license lapse through not paying in the fee within the statutory time, and whose hotel had {[since been closed. On a proposition being put to, this effect, the Chairman stated that ifc was a distinctly illegal motion, bat at all the members present appeared unanimous, he would put it. Messrs Cock.. Barrett, and Ritchie roted for it, and the Chairman against. It was declared carried, and the certificate was re-dated. The fifth member of the Committee (Me Lipsey) was absent.
