The Jury state in their Report : — "It is very satisfactory to be able to note in this connection that the»-e was a remarkable concensus of opinion as to the merits of the exhibits, often amounting to unanimity , and this even when the members wero blinded, which was frequently done. Many of the ales of all kind* were very fine, and those which were 'off' were such ns were very unlikely to have taken a place in any case ; in fact, tire survival of the fittest has been effected by natural selection."
