Crown : The wiiuse being sunk from No. 2 to No. 3 level is down sixty feet, in splendid country; The drive at No. 3 is almost under the winze, so that in the, course of a day or two the contractors will pi: ;-l ..o ns'j on the reef to 'meet the, svin.v-, I'lus hloek has a depth of aboiU 10u iecu vertical, and 130 feet on the underly of the reef. A numerous staff of men are engaged in different pans of tl»<» mine, stoping out the blocks pbove No. 2 level, and prospecting. All outside woik has been at a standstill for the last few weeks, the weather being so severe. Kenilworth : Shepherd's Tribute: — This party tiro still on ijood gold, and giving employment to a large number of men, Moore's Tribute : In this section of the mine a block of ground on the Maria reef is being stoped out, witu good results, the ore being worth over £30 per ton. Waver! y : Tliis is a lease late'y taken up by Mr McCombie. nml is tiouate to the west of the Kenilworth, and is part of the old Mammoth Co.'s ground. Mr Jackson is now engaged in the survey of it. > I Imperial : Mr Clements is pounding away as usual, and getting good stone, I van hoe and Truro : A considerable j amount of prospecting is being done in [ this mine, a block on the Soolt reef if being stoped out, on which the battery is , kept steailily goinyr. Experimental Plant : Thte plant has not made a start yet, although (I believe), it is all ready for work. Ivanhoe Battery : The late' rains having damaged the t.ail v racp, this battery has been idle for some days.
