.Champion G. and S. Mines Tai : Mr Johnston, under whose supervision the aerial tramway is being constructed for '.this Company, -arrived from Auckland, via Thames • on- 'Wednesday last ; and will at once proceed to have the erection of the wire rope gone on with. Probably a start ..with this work will be made on Monday next. Mr Howland, sub-contractor for the erection of the necessary trestles, etc., has now completed this portion of the work. ' u * There is nothing new to report from the mines, whore work is progressing steadily.
