Selected Games. Played between J. Y. Reed, of America, and H. L. Hopkins, at Chicago, on March 11th, 1889, and published in the "American Checker Review," with the comment that it exhibits the longest '• stroke " on record.

It will be observed that 14 pieces have been removed from thp board, which is one more than in a celebrated game which Mr Charles Hefter won from Mr C. F. Barker some 11 or 12 years ago. The score of this Fame is as follows: —
