NEW HEDRIDES STEAM SERVICE. Melbourne, June 29.
Negotiations are proceeding between the Government, the I'iesbyterians, and the Union Company for the extension of the New Hebrides service. It is suggested that a small steamer should be subsidised as a feeder -from the islands, and Mr Gillies has requested the Union Company to submit a statement as to amount of subsidy required.
