A REMEDY FOR DIPTHERIA.
[To the Editor.] Sir, — As' diptheria is again prevalent I ask you to publish the following recipe, as I have cured dozens of cases with it in Auckland, and can thus guarantee its efficiency. My daughter was attacked, the doctor said it was "a bad case ; but she was attending school again in three days. Mr Ramsbottom'a daughter was given over by the doctor ; by this treatment she recovered and was about again in one week. Captain Louis h.'d his daughter given OTer by the doctor ; T cured her also, she was well in a week :—5: — 5 drops of sulphuric acid in a tumbler of water, and given as the child can swallow it. If the swallow is obstructed give it with a teaspoon till the throat passage is clear, then a wine glass full every two hours. Also burn sulphur in the room as strong as you can bear it. This remedy will not sicken them. Keep the bowels open by au aperient. — I am, etc , H, Waite, High-street, Auckland. [A correspondent writes from Auckland, under date June 24th, having seen by the Te Auoha and Ohinemuki News, that diptheria existed at Te Aroha, enclosing the above, with a request that it be published. It is not clear from our correspondent's letter whether the recipe was handed them to forward us for publication in the first instance, or was copied from another paper by our correspondent. Ed.]
