SUDDEN DEATH. Auckland, June 20.
An old resident, named Josiah Firth, passed away suddenly at his residence in Cookstreefc. The deceased was 64 years of age and has for niany years been engaged in the mill of his cou&in, Mr J. C. Firth. Since the Eight Hours Mill closed he has been out of work. Yesterday Mr Firth, who had been in a cheerful humour pre/iously, suddenly complained to his Avife of a pain at his heart. Mrs Firth advised him to lie down, and said that she would , prepare a mustard plaster. She then went into the yard, anc upon her return found her husband lying on the floor. She at once sent her son Stephen Alfred for medical assistance, and Drs. Lewis and Kenderdino were soon in attendance. A slight examination convinced both gentlemen that lite was extinct. The coroner, Dr. Philson, held the customary inquest this afternoon at the Robert Burns Hotel.
