LOSS OF LIVES AND STOCK. Melbourne, June 14.

Heavy rains have fallen and caused floods in all parts of thecolony,occa3ioning great damage to properly. '>. The residents in Avoca have had to leave their dwellings owing to the floods. A large number of stock have been , drowned at Chilton. The river Murray overflowed at Woodonga, and submerged a large tract of country. The inhabitants of Bowendalo have been flooded out of their houses, but were Rescued.' At Elmore a buggy was washed away by the force of- the torrent ; the' Misses Powell and Gilpin being drowned. Guilford, Newstead, and Barriughup, in Castlemaine district, are under water. The floods are the heaviest since 1870.
