We learn on good authority that Govern, ment Houseisno longer tobemainbained as a residence for tho Governor whenever he may please to visit Auckland, and that authoritative instructions have been issued from Wellington to that effect. Wo shall be glad to learn what action our members intend to take in this matter. The Mayor will, avo believe, bring tho subject up at the meeting of the City Council to-night.
