BURIED THREE HUNDRED YEARS.

A strange historical discovery has been made in a cave on the Red River, in Montague county, Texas, byHenrv Stewart and John Wilson, two citi/eus of the county. They found a yellow, faded manuscript which they could not decipher. The find cauged a sensation in the county. and the manuscript was inspected by a score of men, but no one could translate it. A Latin scholar was finally found, who, after hard work, furnished a rough translation. The letter purported to be written by Don Pedro Marques, and was dated October 29, 1542. It set forth that, in obedience to the orders of his Imperial Majesty, Charles V.,an expedition was sent to rescue De Soto and his friends. The expedition landed in the New World on April 27th. It vras composed of 114 men. They travelled until they were 200 miles southeast of the cave, when the Indian? killed sixty-three men. The expedition tried to reach the Spanish colony in Mexico, founded by Cortez, and fearing that ifwould never reach New Spain, left the letter in an earthen jar in the cave tor friends who should follow them.
