A SIMPLE SEEE PLANTER.
The accompanying cut illustrates a simple contrivance which has been found a great convenience in planting seeds of trees or ordinary garden seeds. It consists of a tube made of pasteboard, or any similar cheap material which is stiff enough for the purpose. Its length is aboub three feet,
the smaller end being say two inches across, and the other large onough to admit the whole hand. By means of this device it is claimed seeds can be sown exactly where it is intended to place them without any necessity for incurring backaches from continued stooping, and without the risk of light seeds being blown away before they can be covered with earth or in process of dropping them in place. Tn many cases the use of the foot will be sufficient to push a little earth over the seeds, and firm the ground.

Stranger to barkeeper : Well, I suppose you'll have your Sunday off hereafter ? Barkeeper : Oh, no ! I've accepted an engagement in a drug store for that day.
