THE IRISH DELEGATES. INVITATION TO MR DILLON. AN ACCEPTANCE.
In reply to the invitation forwarded to Mr John Dillon, who is at present in Australia with Messrs Deasy and Esmonde, Messrs J. Sheahan and W. Jennings, the joint secretaries of the local committee, have received an acceptance in the following terms :—: — "Orange, May 22nd, 18S9. Messrs Sheaban and William Jennings, Bsqrs. Gentlemen, — Your letter of invitation, dated Ma> 13th, reached me here this morning. I am rnosfc grateful to the gentlemen who have sent so warm an invitation to me and my colleagues to visit Auckland. I thought to avail myself of it before very long, but I tind so much work of very great importance to be done in Australia that I fear I shall not be able to sail for New Zealand before the middle of August. As soon as I can fix a date for my visit to Auckland, I shall write to you again. It will, I fear, be impossible for my colleagues to sro with me to New Zealand. They will be fully occupied in Australia for the next four months — With best regards, yours sincerely (Signed), John Dillon."
