ANOTHER JEWELLERY ROBBERY AT TE AROHA.

Te Arolin, residents were startled on Thursday morning by tbf announcement ihafc the premises of Mr C. Balclce (Fancy goods shop), Whitaker-street, liad been forced during 1 the preceding ni^rlit, and goods to tlv* vahi* of ab«nt L 25 abstracted, [t appears Mr Balckc'a.

shop was locked up as usual the night previous, and the first intimation af the jobbery -was given by one of the compositor of the Tio Aroiia a'tsd Ohinemuri News, who when proceeding to his work about eight o'clock, noticed the the door < of Mr Baloke's shop was slightly open ; and who promptly communicated'with the police. Mr Balclce lives at some distance away from his shop, which adjoins that of Mr Hart, storekeeper on one side, and Mr Puul, bootmaker on the other side (both of whom reside on the premises). It would appear that the burglar effected an entrance- by bursting in the front door, the, catch of the lock giving away. Two silver watches, several silver chains, and other jewellery was taken away, to the total value of nbput L 25 ; but strange to say nothing else was removed, and some money in the till was never meddled with. The robber evidently knew the run of the shop pretty well, and where Mr Balcke kept his jewellery, etc. No direct clue has been obtained to the burglar. It is sincerely to bo hoped the thief will be speedily run to ground,. It is only a few weeks ago we had to report a robbeiy of /watches and jewellery from the premised of Mr Albert Bcrger, watchi maker, Te Aroha,.
