QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY. LORD MAYOR'S BANQUET. London, May 25.
There were one thousand guests present at the Lord Mayor's banquet at Whitehall yesterday. The affair was a splendid one. At the Fire Brigade display at Whitehall, the police force was deficient in number and could not control the crowd. The carriage of the Prince of Wales was mobbed, and the Princess was unable to distribute the prizes. The Marquis of Normanby, Sir Hercules Robinson, Sir George Bowen, Sir William Jervoi?, and .Sir Henry Loch, past and present Colonial Governors, dined with Lord Knutslorc*.
