At the Police Court to-day the charge of stealing a keg of brandy preferred by -Mr Porter, of Mercer Hotel, against seamen Thornton, Waitemata ' Na'vala, wa3 not proved. The charges of stealing an acccrdeon" preferred aarainst Buttle, Waitemata, Navals, and, Costello, Onehunga Navals, was also, dismissed These alleged thefts were said to have taken place on the occasion of the return of the Volunteers from, encampment at Hamilton.
