Twentyman Wilson, licensee of the Melville Hotel, was tined £5, and the conviction was endorsed on his license, for allowing an unlawful game to be played in his bar last Saturday night. It was proved that men were playing \ ankee grab for drinks. The R.M. hell this to be an unlawful game. One point in the defence was that the defendant was not awaie of it, but it was shown that he was in and out of the bar for drinks for the rooms, and the 11. Al. said he did not believe the denial of knowledge. The police were informed by a man who swore that one of the players was cheating with false dice, and a man was convicted of it last Monday.
