The Dutch have had an encounter with the natives of Acheen, a town of Sumatra, whoso inhabitants are zealous M >hummedans. Thirty of the Dutch were killed and vvounrted. The Achinees attacked the garrison at Edi, and some sharp fighting- took place. Tho Acliinees were routed, and hix of their number were killed.
