MIRACULOUS ESCAPE BY A SOMNAMBULIST. AUCKLAND, Last Night.

Mr John Wakefield, an English gentleman stopping at the Imperial Hotel, last night got up in his sleep and jumped or fell out of an upstairs window, sixty feet from the giound. He fell on his side and sustained a severe fracture of one elbow, and was also badly bruised, but seems to have received no other serious injuries. His escape was miraculous. Mr Wakefield has no recollection of anything before striking the pavement. He has previously been treated for somnambulism.
