ALL ENGAGEMENTS FOR THE SEASON CANCELLED.
Miss Anderson was born in ]859 at Sacramento, and her fortune is ample, it having been acquirod in a large part during the last six or seven years. A ' Herald ' despatch from rhiladelphia eajs that Mary Anderson \\ ill act no more this season. She was informed by her physician, Dr. S. Weir Mitchell, that in order to fully recover from the nervous prostration from which sho has boen suffering for a fortnight, she would have to cancel all her engagements for the season, and put herself under his care for a course of treatment. After leaving Miss Andei-Hon, Dr. Mitchell went to the telegraph office, and telegraphed feo Manager Abbey that Miss Anderson was too ill to fullil her coming engagements. Mr Abbey immediately sent the following to the proprietors of the Chestnut-street Theatre : — 'It has been found imperative, owing to Mary Andersons continued ill-health, and acting upon the advice of Dr. Weir Mitchell, to di&continue her performances entirely for the rest of the present dramatic season.'
