EDUCATION IN AUSTRIA. PROPOSED CHANGES.
Vienna, May 5. A Bill amending the law relating to elementary schools has been presented to the Reichratch. It hands over the religious education of children to the church, but stipulates that teachers must obey the rules of the Education Department. The Bill determines the time which shall be devoted to the different subjects of instruction, and makes it compulsory that pupils shall attend between the ages of 6 and 14 years.
