Sydney, April 25. The weather was line for the third day's racing, bub this being an "off "day, the attendance was much below those of previous daye. The two principal weight-for-age events fell to Carbine, who won both in splendid style. Results : All-aged Stakes, ot lOsovs each, with 500?50vs added ; second, lOOsovs. One mile. Mr D. S. Wallace's b c Carbine, 3yrs, by Musket— Mersey, Bst 81b 1 Hon. J. White's b q Eudolph, 2yrs, by Maroini-Henry— Rusk, 6st 121b ... 2 Mr A. Greenways b h Russley, aged, by Doncaster — Steppe, 9st 111b 3 Lochiel and Melos also ran. The field was despatched on even terms, but Eussley and Lochiel soon raced to the front, Carbine bringing u p the rear. This order was maintained for half the journey, when both Carbine and Rudolph improved their positions. As they entered 'the straight, Lochiel died away, and Carbine and Rudolph weie on even terms with Russley, Melos at the same time passing Lochiel. At the distance post Carbine asserted himself, and won by half a length from Rudolph, Russley a fair third, Melos fourth, and Lochiel last. Time, lmin. 46sec. The betting at the post was 6to 4 on Carbine, 4 to 1 against Rudolph, 7 to 1 Russley. Weltek Handicap, of ssovs. each, with 200sovs added ; second, 50sovs. One mile and a quarter. Cinaron, 7st 91b I Charcoal, 9st 71b 2 Miss Alice, 9st .. . . ... . 3 Thirteen horses started, and after a good race, Cinaron won by a length. Time, 2min 16 l-3sec. The race was run a second time, owing 1 to the stewards entertaining a. protest entered in the first race. The First Foal Stakes. Six furlongsHon. J. Betting : 5 to 2 on Carbine, 5 to 2 against Abercorn, 20 to 1 against Lochiel. On the fall of the flag Lochiel went away with the lead, followed by Carbine, Abercorn being close handy. The race for the first round was simply a farce, and the slowness of the pace was cause of derision from spectators. The jockeys on Carbine and Abercorn appeared to be watching and waiting for each other and nob paying much attention to Lochiel, who still held the lead. Five furlongs from home, Lochiel commenced to cut oub the pace at a merry bat, and it was only then that the riders of the other pair saw that they weva making a mistake. Both set out in reaL earnest after the leader. At one time it appeared as if Lochiel must win, bub Carbine, running with great gameness, crept up inside the distance, and won on the post by ha'f a head from Lochiel, Abercorn two lengths behind the latter. Time, smin 3sec. City Handicap, of* ssovs each, with 500 soys added ; second, lOOsovs. One mile and a-half. Keith, by Goldsbrough — Aphrodite, 9sb 2lb ... 1 Yabba, 7et9lb .. 2 Clogs, 6st 111b 3Sixteen started. Keith won easily. Time,. 2min 39sec.
