Several unsold ; those sold ranged from £3 10s to £6 10s ; backward cows, from 40s each. Stcre cattle dull of sale at lower values. Fat cattle maintained last week's prices, ranging up to 16s the 1001b. Ewes of good quality kept their late values, but inferior ewes were lower, w ethers ranged from 9s to 13s ; ewes, 5s 6d to lls 6d each. Lambs in short supply, and kept their values. Pigs plentiful. Well-fatted pigs sold well ; heavy weights, from 34s to 495 ; porkers, 14s to 2ls each, but young stoic pigs were low, from 3s to 6s each. Calves abundant; sold well throughout. aUessrs Abthur and Buddles Weekly Report.—The holidays have again somewhat interrupted business. No .sales could be held on .Monday, it being a' close day, and on Tuesday holiday was kept by some. Several bales by auction have been hel* 1 . Tuesday, there was a sale by order ot the Official Assignee at the premises of W. Palmer, butcher, Hobson-street, of gas engine, sausage machine, etc. A good number \ver<s present, and fair prices were obtained. Wednesday, sale ot household furniture at the mart. The attendance was not large. Bidding was rather languid. A fair amount ot busine-s was done. Thursday, a sale ot draper y, clothing, etc., at the mart. There was a good attendance. A large quantity of stuff sold at very satisfactory prices- There was also a sale of Droyierties (by order of the Registrar of the Supreme Court) situated in Franklin Road and Wolf-street. They were purchased by the mortgagees. On Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, sales were held lor the disposal of poultry, produce, lruit, groceries, etc. The whole were well attended, and large quantities sold. Produce has come to hand in large quantity ; prices remain about the same as last week. Good local cured bacon is wanted. An unsatisfied demand tor ft'ret-class fresh and corned butter, also fresh eggs. Fruit: The supply has been large, fair demand, prices lor good stuff firmer,* much less of infenor to hand. Lemons have been quiet; prices lower; those to hand were small. Poultry : A fair supply of fowls, but none of lirst-class killing birds; only a few turkeys; ducks were entered in good number; no geese. A good number of pigs brought forward, many were very inferior. Prices for fowls never averaged so low, none of t le iarge buyers were in want. Tnere was but. little outside demand. Aitken's Market Report for the week ending April 27.— Produce or all kinds has been placed in very large quantities. Supplies ot all have been very large ; the demand has also been vry good. Poultry of all kinds came to hand in very large numbers. Fowls and ducks sold at much improved prices, but tuikeys were low. For pigs there is very little demand ; those to hand sold at very low prices. Potatoes : Supply slightly in excess of demand, and as tho mark-t is tairly stocked with Southern, our local m-own have a downward tendency. Onions are scarce and prices high ; with difficulty requirements ha\ c been supplied ; present values cannot stand long. Wheat is easier and maize unchanged. Oats scarce, and good prices have ruled. Pumpkins arid vegetables unchanged. Bacon and hams: AquantityotSouthcrnhassokl freely. Cheese in short supply; values unchanged. Butter has somewhat improved. Fresh has sold at better piices; prime "corned very scarce, but, mienor lots plentiful. Honey moves ort'uiirly well, i^ggss ot good quality are scarce. A good demand exists in mat supplies, which continue on the increase. That ot Friday was the largest 1 have yet offered at one sale. Considering tho quantity to hand, all have sold tairly well. Good sound lots were keen.j- competed for, and the average price has been a trifle be ter, but sott and inferior lots weredifllcult to quit. Apples and pears came forward in large quantities. Peaches, but few received. Lemons, few to hand, values lower. Plums, few to hand; thoie were damaged and sold low. Quinces, increased supply; values unchanged. Cape gooseberries sold well. Friday's sale was a long one, lasting from 11 o'clock a.m. to 6.30 p.m.. and all lots were successfully got through. The attendance was large, with keen c impctition to the end. Tho ordinary weekly horso sale at the Durham Yards was not held last week on account of the holidays, but there was a sale of blood slock held at Green Lane on Thursday, which ha* been already reported. Wool, hides, and skins: Thero wns no auction sale at the Durham Yards on Tuesday, also on account of tho holiuuys. A few lots sold privately, and thero remains a strong demand, particularly for heavy ox hides. Cattle The holidays have, as usual, shortened tho supply, and for dairy and fat stock there remained an unsatisfied demand, at fully tho previous week's values. There was a small muster at the Nowmarket Yards on Tuesday. Dairy cows at their profit sold at £7. and one lot wns reserved at £8. Thoie was buc slight, alteration in the value of fat, beasts, allnongh tho supnly was limited, but the tendency was upwards, particularly for top sorts, which reached 16s pet 1001b. Sheep at Newmarket on Tuesday wero scarce ; but, few really prime wethers wero yarded, and tor insufficiently fatted and ewes prices were the same as the previous week. L-unbs were scarce, and sold at 7s each. Pises Vory few yarded. London, April 24. The wool sales re-opened to-d,vy, with priced very tirin. there was a largo attendance of buj c'"s, and koen competition. The present series will close on May 4. The quantity of \\ heat and flour afloat for tho United Kingdom is 1,860.000 qunrtors, and for the continent 320,000. The American visible supply is 27,000,000 bushels.
