ARRIVAL OF LORD ONSLOW.

The new Governor, His Excellency, the Earl of Onslow, with the Countess of Onslow, arrived in Auckland from Sydney on Sunday evening by the H.M.s.s Mariposii at eight o'clock, and Sir Frederick Whitaker, representing the Government as Attorney -General, and also on Ixhalf of the Masonic fraternity as Grand Master of that order, went on board and welcomed the Earl ami Countess. Sir P. Whitaker was accompanied by Colonel Hume, Inspector of the New Zealand Volunteer forces. Lord and Lady Onslow, and the Governor's aide-de-camp, Captain Saville, were driven to the Grand Hotel in Princessstreet, where they will reside during their stay in Auckland, as there are no servants at Government House. A large number of police, under Inspector Broham, SergeanUMajur Pratt, and other officers, were present when the Governor landed.
