NEW ZEALAND INLAND PARCEL POST.

KEGULATIoxq. 1. Posting and Labelling.— ln order that, a paicel may go by Paicel Pot, it must be handed in at a Post Office counter or deliverywindow, and the postage due prepaid. The woids "Parcel Post" should be written on the parcel, or on the label to be obtained from the Post Office for affixing to the panel. 2. Rates of ] ostage and weight,— The rates of postage for a parcel arc :—: — b. d. Size. — The dimensions allowed for a parcel are :— ft, in. Greatest length 3 G Greatest length and ghth combined (i 0 For example : A parcel measuring 3ft 6in in length may measure as much as 2ft Gin in girth. A shorter parrel may ts thicker ; thus, if it measure only 3ft in length, it may be 3ft in girth round its thickest part. The weights and dimensions given above^ apply only to parcols for places served by railway, coach, or steamboat. 4. For Places not Served by Eailway, Coach, or Steamer.— To all places not served bv railway, couch, or steamer, on 7 y parcels not exceeding 51bs in weight, and nob measuring more than 2ft in length, and Ift in breadth or depth may be accepted, and provided they are not of such a fragile nature as to prevent their being sent with safety in the ordinary mail bag. 5. Must be Prepaid. — The full postage must be prepaid by ordinary postage stamps, which must be affixed by the sender or the person handing in the parcel. 6. Not to be Posted in Posting-box. — Parcels exceeding lib in weight are not to bo posted in the posting-box, but must be handed over the counter, or at the delivery-window ot the Post Office, to the prop2r officer, by whom the size, ■« eight-, and postage will be checked before a parcel may be accepted. Parcels posted in the posting-box, unless admissible and fully paid at letter rate, will be charged on delivery with a fine of Gd., in addition to any deficient postage. This also applies to parcels posted in pillar aud other posting' boxes. 7. Prohibited Parcels. — Parcels bearing, or containing writing or marks of an offensive or indecent character, or containing gunpowder, cartridges, lucifer matches, or anything explosive or liable to combustion, bladders con taining liquid, live animals, grossly offensive or filthy matter, or any substance likely to cause injury to other parcels or to the officers of the Post Office, are prohibited. 8. What other Parcels may not contain, — parcels may not contain any letter or communication of the nature of a letter, money (coin or bunk notes), or a packet or parcel intended for delivery at an address other than that borne by the parcel itself. 12, Registered.— Parcels may be registered nndei the same conditions as letters ; and for an additional fee of 2d a rereipt can be obtained and posted to the sender,

ENOLISH PAECEL POST. Eate of Postage. — For a parcel not exceeding 21bs in weight, Is 6d ; for every additional pound or fraction thereof, 9d extra. Postage must be fully prepaid by means of po=fcage stamps affixed to the parcels. Insufficiently prepaid pnrcelswill not be accepted. Limit of Weight, and Dimensions. — A pavcel for transmission must not exceed I lib* in weight. 3ft Gin length, or 6ft in length and <urth combined.
