London", April 17. Bidding at the wool sales continues brisk, and prices remain firm. The quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,944,000 quarters ; for the continent, 360,000. The American visible supply is 27,750,000 bushels. . The English wheat market has undergone a general decline of 6d ; the continental maruet is dull, and the American unchanged. Sugar : German beet, 18s 6d ; Java beet, 225, still advancing. Shares in the Otago and Southland Investment Company are quoted at 30s, and Dalgeby and Co.'s'afc £7 10s. Sydney, April 17. Best New Zealand wheat, 4s 3d to 4s 9d to ss ; ditto chick wheat, 3s 7d to 3s 9d. There will iiot be much doing till afler the holidays. Oats, best food, 3s 2d to 3s scl ; seed, 3s 3d to 3s 6d, down to 2s 9d for lower grades ; maize, 3s 2d ; barley, Cape, 3s 4d ; English, 4s 6d ; bran, Is ; pollard, Is 3d ; potatoes, New Zealand, £4 to £4 5s ; Circular Heads, £4 10s ; onions, New Zealand, £14 ; turnips. £3 ; butter, imported, 8d to Is 2d ; local, Is 3d to Is 6d ; cheese, 7d to B}d ; bacon, local, 8d ; imported, 9Ad. Melbourne, Apiil 17. Speculators in wheat are trying to obtain contracts for further parcels. Limited millers' business is doing, and auctions are lifeless. Prices aie steady, and have undergone no change. Flour : Stone made, £12 ss; roller brands, £13. Oats : New Zealand heavy, 4s Id ; stout, 3s lOd to 3s 10 Id. Barley : Malting, 5s lOd ; Cape, 3s 4d. Peas, 4s 3d ; maize, 4& 6d to 4s 6|d ; bran, prime, Is 4d, in good demand. Adelaide, April 17.
