The minister's wife sat on the front porch mending the clothes ot one of her numerous progeny. A neighbour passing 1 stopped in tor a social chaf. A large work basket, half full of buttons, wil on the floor oi the porch. After various remarks of a gossipy nature the visitoi said : ' You seem to bo well supplied with buttons, JSJrs Goodman.' 1 Yea ; well indeed.' 'My gracious ! If there ain't two of the tame button? my husband had on his last winter suit. I'd know 'em anywhere.' 'Indeed l ' .said the minister's wife, calmly. 'I am surprised to hear it. These buttons weie found in the contribution box. So I thought I'd put them to some vee, so I — what ! must you go ? Well, be Bu re to call again.'
