Crawfoid) has six men employed cleaning out and repairing a drive in the \icinity of the old Collarbone rifle range which was originally put in 5 or 6 years ago. This is being dono with a view to intersect.ng the old Atlantic reef, which is now being successfully worked near the boundary by a private party of claimholders. The drive, which will give a vertical height of 67ft on the reef, has been almost cleaned out up to the face, a distance of 270 it, so that Mr Crawford will soon be in a position to definitely ascertain whether or not it was the Atlantic lode that was intersected in it. There is a further distance of 125 ft to be driven ere the boundary in reached, and where the men working in the adjoining claim are meeting with such excellent prospects, some of the quartz broken out by them having yielded soz to the load. It is worthy of mention that the block over the present; workings was taken out some years ago.
