April 8. . New Moaxataiari. — The winze on the hangingwall leader afc No. 3 level of the Cambria shaft is now down 37ft. Theleader although still small is looking a gopd deal better and is again carrying some good mineral. On Saturday in breaking down about a foot in depbh of the lead good blotches of gold were seen, and about a lb of stone selected. 13 feet more of sinking should put the winze deep enough to connect with the back of the drive .into No. 4 level, which will have to be driven 38ft. to get under the point where the winze is coming down. There is no change to report at No. 4 level. A start was made on Friday on the surface dirt and should the weather keep tine this week a good quantity, can be put through the battery.
