Zanzibar, April 6. The German flag has been hoisted on the mainland, replacing that of the East African Company.

Beblin, April 7. Capfcain Wissman has assumed the &upieme commandof the German operations on shore at Zanzibar. The "Nord Deutsche Zeitung 3 ' denies that he has hoisted the German Imperial flag there, and states that the flag hoisted was only a mercantile one. >
