POETRY.

PROVINCIA AUCKLANDIA.

Home of spirits blithe and free, All must rise and honour thee ! Noble Province, three tunes three ! Aucklandia !

Laved by liquid blue and green, Goddess-like in gai'b and mion, Health to theo in hippocrene ! Aucklandia !

Finest gem by Fortune set In the crystal ocean yet— Beauty is thy coronet !. Aucklandia!

Glorious skies above thee bend, Perfumes from thy lap ascend, Matchless graces in thee blend, Aucklandia !

Fruits and flowers, Athenian lore, Blessings God has yet to pour, Be thine, be thine tor evermore, Aucklandia !

Thine be olives, figs and wine, Trellis green wiUi fruitful vine, Honey bees and eglantine, Aucklandia !

From thine harbour lucky ships Ploughing 'tween old Neptune's lips, Swan-like, prosecute their trips, Auoklandia !

Flash 'nealh stars and moon at night ! Blush and laugh when suns incite ! Them art young, and thou art bright, . Aucklandia !

Scintillate, as aye thou tlosL, Coruscate, fox- bo thou must ; Grace embellish thy rich bust. Aucklandia !

Thrice-rich province, oceau's queen Goddess-like in garb and mien ! Hael, drink hael, in hippocrene. 4-Ucklandia • lip, ye spirits blythe and free, Rise, all rise, and quaff with me ! •Hail, provincials, three times three. , , Aueklandia !
