NEW ZEALAND INLAND PARCEL POST. REGULATIONS.

1 . Posting and Labelling. — In order that a parcel may go by Parcel Post, it must be handed in at a Post Office counter or deliverywindow, and the postage due piepaid. The •words " Parcel Post " should be written on ihe parcel, or on the label to be obtained from the Post Office for affixing to the parrel.

For example : A parcel measui'ing 3ft 6in in length may measure as much as 2ft 6in in pirth. The weights r.nd dimensions given above apply only <o parcels for places served by railway, coach, or steamboat. 4. For Places not Served by Railway, Coach, or Steamer. — To all places not served Ly railway, coach, or steamer, ori'y parcels i,ot exceeding 51b9 in weight, and not measuring more than 2ft in length, and lft in breadth or depth may be accepted, and provided they are not of such a fragile nature ns to prevent their being sent with safety in the ordinary mail bag. 5. Must be Prepaid. — The full postage must be prepaid by ordinary postage stamps, which must be affixed by the sender or the person handing in the parcel. 6. Not lo be Posted in Posting-box.— Parcels exceeding lib in weight are not to be posted in the posting-box, but mu9tbe bonded over the counter, or at the delivery-window of the Post Office, to the proper officer, by whom ihe size, -weight, nnd postage will be checked before a parcel may be accepted. Parcels posted in the posting-box, unless admissible and fully paid at letter rate will be charged on delivery with a fine of 6cL, in addition to any deficient postage. This also applies to parcels posted. in pillar aud other postingboxes. 7. Prohibited Parcels. — Parcels bearing, or containing writing or marts of an offensive or indecent character, or containing gnnnowdcr, cartridges, lucifer matches, or anything explosive or liable to combustion, bladders eon laining liquid, live animals, grossly offensive or filthy matter, or any substance likely to cause injury to other paicels or to the officers of the Post Office, are prohibited. 8.
