THE HINEMOA'S SERVICES OFFERED.
o,n Saturday evening Lieutenant Wilson received a telegram irom the Premier, Sir Harry Atkinson, stating' that the Government and people of New* Zealand expressed their sympathy and sorrow at the great loss sustained by the United States navy, and that they would gladly place at the disposal of Admiral Kxmberley the Government steamer Hinemoa for any | service to which he might put her. Lieut. Wilson replied, expressing thanks for the sympathy accorded, and stating that he was awaiting instructions from Washington, which he expected on Monday. He also wired that if necessity arose he would gladly avail himself of their kind otter. Lieutenant Wilson received a cable irom Washington subsequently, instructing him to use his own judgment;, and we understand that he intends, it possible, to obtain a steamer larger than tne Hinemoa, as the number of men to be provided for is about three hundred.
