Mining News. TE AROHA.

Champion G. and S Mines: Contracts No. 1 (116 feet crosscut, TOO feet driving on reef), No. 2 (60 feet winze), and No. 3 (70 feet crosscut, 100 feet driving o r i line of reef), are now completed. No. 4 Contract : P. Dillon and party, have driven 110 feet, out of the 250 feet to complete this contract. The reef is looking well .in the face, and the contractors are making good headway with the work in hand. No 5 Contract : L. Pctery, contractor, is now down a distance of 40 feet For the whole distance sunk the quartz is really first class. A further distance of 65 feet remains to be sunk before connection with No. 6 can be effected. No. 6 Contract : Emerson and party have now driven about 60 feet on the line of reef in the low level. Work in all p-uts of the mine are progressing satisfactory. The construction of the aerial tramway is being pushed aho.id by the contractor. Already on the short branch line of the tramway, which will connect the present low level with the main line of train, the wires are in position.
