ItrGTJLATIOXS. 1 . Posting and Labelling. — In order that a parcel may go by Parcel Post, it must be handed in at a Post Oilice counter or deliveryvindow, ond the postage due prepaid. The voids " Paieel Post " should be written on the parcel, or on the label to be obtained from the Post Office for affixing to the parcel. j 2. Hates of] ostage ami weight. — The rates of postage for a parcel are :—: — s. a. Not exceeding lib in weight 0 7 31b., but not exceeding 2lbs. 0 10 21bs „ 31bs 1 1 „ 311-s „ 4bs 1 4 „ 41bs sbs 1 7 „ slbs „ Gibs 110 Gibs 71bs 2 1 „ 71bs „ Blbs 2 4 „ Blbs „ 91bs 2 7 „ 'Jibs „ lO.bs 2 10 lOlbs „ lllbs 3 1 No parcel exceeding lllbs in weight, or the dimensions hereafter specified, will be accepted ; and unpaid or insufficiently prepaid parcels will be refused. 3. Size. — The dimensions allowed for a parcel aie : — ft. in.' Greatest length 3 6 Gieatest length and giith combined 6 0 For example : A parcel measuring 3ft 6in in length may measuie as much as 2ft Gin in {. irth. A shorter parcel may be thicker ; thus, if it measuie only 3ft in length, it may be 3ft in girth round its thickest part. The weights Mid dimensions given above apply only to parcels for places served by railway, coach, or steamboat. 4. For Places r.ofc Served by Bail way, Coach, or Steamer. — To all places not served l>y railway, coach, or steamer, on y parcels j^or exceeding 51bs in weight, and nob measuring more than 2ft in length, and lft in breadth or depth may be accepted, and piovided they are not of such a fragile nature as to prevent their being sent with safety in the ordinary mail hag. 5. Must be Prepaid. — The full postage must he prepaid by ordinary postage stamps, which must he affixed by the sender or the person handing in the parcel. G. Not to he Posted in Posting-box. — Parcels exceeding lib in weight are not to be pcs ed in theposting-box, but must be handed over the counter, or at the delivery-window ot the Post Office, to the proper officer, by whom the size, weight, and postage will be checked Lefo-e a parcel may be accepted. Parcel posted in the posting box, unless admissible and fully paid at Liter iata will be charged on delivery with a fine of 01., in addition to any deficient postage. This also applies to parcels posted in pillar aud other postingboxes. 7. Prohibited Parcels.— Parrel-? be iring, or containing writing or marks of an offensive or indecent diameter, or containing gn i powder, cartndges, lncifer matches, or any tiling explosive or liable to combustion, Muddeis con tnining liquid, l'\e animals, gros'lyoffenmv oi filthy matter, or any substance likely to came injury to other paicels or t.j the officers of ihe Post Office, ure prohibited. 8.
