NEW ZEALAND INLAND PARCEL POST.
RTGULATIONS. 1. Posting find Labelling.— ln order that a rnrcel mny £0 by Parcel Post, it must be Landed in at a Post Ofiice counter or deliverywindow, and the postage due prepaid. The words " Parcel Post " should bo written on ihe parcel, or on the label to be obtained from Die Post Office for affixing to the parcel. 2. Eates of postage and weight. — The rates cf postage for a parcel are :—: —
Ko parcel exceeding lllbs in weight, or the dimensions hereafter Rpecified, will be acreptcd ; and unpaid or insufficiently prepaid parcels -will he refufed. 3. Size. — The dimensions allowed for a parcel are :: — ■ ft. in. (Greatest length 3 6 Greatest length and girth combined 6 0 For example : A parcel measuring 3ft Gin in length may measure as much as 2ft 6in in Firth. A shorter parcel may be thicker ; thus, if it measure only 3ft in length, it may be 3ft in girth round its thickost part. The weights n,nd dimenpions given above appty only to parcels for places served by railway, coach, or steamboat. 4. For Places not Served by Railway, roach, or Steamer. — To all places not served by railway, coach, or steamer, on'y parcel* rox exceeding 51bs in weight, and not measuring more than 2ft in length, and Ift in breadthor depth may be accepted, and provided they are not of such a fragile nature as to prevent their being sent with safety in the ordinary mail bag. iS. Must be Prepaid. — The full postage must b« prepaid by ordinary postage stamps, which must be affixed by the sender or the person handing: in the parcel. C. Not to be Posted in Posting-box. — Parcels exceeding lib in weight, are not to be posted in the posting-box, but must be handed over the counter, or at the delivery-window of the Post Office, to the proper officer, by whom the f ize, r^ght-, and postage will be checked before a parcel may be accepted. Parcels posted in the posting-box, unless admissible nnd fully paid at i. ttev rate, will be charged on delivery with a fine of Gd., in addition to Jiny deficient postage. This also applies to parcels posted in pillar iui:l other postingboxes. 7. Prohibited Parcels. — Parrels bearing, or ronlaining writing or marts of an offensive or indecent character, or containing "tin powder, cartridges, lucifer matches, or anything "Xplosive or liable to combustion, blaMeis cou t .lining liquid, live animal*, grossly ofiVns've or filthr matter, or any substance likely to cause injury to other parcels or to the officers of the Post Office, are prohibited. 8. What other Paicels may not contain, — Parcels inny not contain any letter or communication ol the nature of -a letter, money (coin or bunk notes), or a packet or parcel intended for delivery at an address other than t iaf borne by the parcel itself, J2.
