Ax extraordinary meeting of the shaveholders in Tiernan's Freehold G.M, Company was held this morning. Mr It. C. Barstow occupied the chair. Mr Frater briefly explained what was the position of the Company at the present time. It had been in abeyance for two or three years, and the last directors wcie given to understand by the solicitors that they were no longer directors. The property situated at Coromandel was freehold, and had oiiginaily cost £530, and the Company was not in debt and had about £14 in the bank. Several oflers had been made to take the mine over upon tribute at from 10 to 12 per cent. No one could act for the Company, and it would be for them to do something now. Mr Harris explained that at present the Company was in a peculiar position, that if there was any money to divide no one would know who was entitled to receive a share of this. It was shown by those present that the way to get over that difficulty would be to appoint directors and make a nominal call, and those shareholders who did not meet the call would be scored oil' the list. This coui.se was considered the best by the meeting, and the following directors were appointed : — Messrs K. C. Barstow, C. A. Harris, J. Frater, P. Biodie, F. Green. Mr J. Young was elected Secretary, After .some desultory conversation it was resolved to suggest to the directors tofcommonce work at once and make o call, after which they would let it on tribute, work it themselves, or sell it just as they might think fit.
