GYMNASTICS FOR LADIES.
Under the direction of Hcrr Adolf Stempel, Miss Cole's pupils performed a most interesting series of gymnastic, calisthonic, and drilling feals a& the Gymnasium, 100, Sutherland Avenue, on Friday aiternoon, the 7th December 1-u-b, and nob a single hitch occurted in the elaborate programme, comprising a number of different exercises. The gymnasium is fitted up in the most perfect manner, and every possible comfort for Ihe pupils has been carefully studied. The long experience of the proprietor as a directoiin other gymnasiums has left nothing undone which could make this establishment attractive. The n'rsb pait of the programme, by the junior division, included wand exercises, trottinsr, and jumping, also ornamental marching. The second part of the ladies' classes., in the senioi division, opened with ornamental and vocal marching, followed by mass exercises (extension movements), then ornamental trot and maze, the Indian clubs (solo by Master .Ferdinand Stempel) coming next, concluding with giant stride exercises. A word of praise should be awarded to the Misses Gordon and Wilkie for their excellent musical accompaniments to the exercise?.
