Now Zealand hemp, middling kinds, is quoted at from £11 to £14. Good sorte are quoted at from £36 ] 5s to £375. Stearine candles are 4d and 9-lOths. Kauri sum is in poor demand. Three hundred and twenty cases sold at previous quotations.
Loxdox, March 16. Ab i,he &ale= io-day 1,125 casks ta low «ere offered and disposed of. Medium quality mutton tallow realised 21s 6d ; medium beef tallow, 21s. Hennessy's first brandies cold for 30s per case. Geneva, 9*. Scotch whisky, first makers, 4s 3d per gallon. The English wheat market has changed a little for the worse. Continental wheat is dull of sale, and American declining continuously. Forward business shows a decline in the values of expected shipments. The supply of foreign wheat i 3 small, and thei'e are no Australian cargoes either off coast or at ports of call. Neither is there any of the new crop on the passage. Sellers ask 38s 6d. Colonial beans average 38s.
