There will be a sitting of the Wardens and Resident Magistrates Court at To Aroha on Tuesday, Owing to pressure on our apace our Waiorongomai correspondents report, and a considerable amount of other matter is unavoidably held over until next issue, Messrs C, A, Comes and T, Wood, are both able to be about, and are progressing favourably towards complete recovery from ths effects of their recent accidents, Thpre will be a meeting of the Morrinsville Blue Ribbon Army on next Saturday evening, 23rd inst. We understand a lensrthy and attractive programme has been prepared for the occasion, and should the weather prove fine a very large attendance and successful meeting is anticipated. Paeroa races to-day. The following acceptances have been received : — Maiden. —Ocean Bird, Gladiator, Tomboy, Paddy, Mystery. Osshn, Volunteer, Tommy, Playboy. Hurdles, — Prospector, Tairua, Seaweed, Ossian, Volunteer, Flora. Cup. — Seaweed, Riot, Gladiator, Try fluke. Publican's Purse.— Ocean Bird, Seaweed. Riot, Paddy, Mystery, Virginia, Ossian, Volunteer. Tommy, tryfluke. The All Comers' Hurdles has been made post entry, A good meeting is expected. We have recfived from Mr H. J. "Hawkins of the Half Circle Nursery, Te Aroha West, a box of apples, being a sample of his this seasons crop. Those sent us include the following :- Ribstone Pippin ; Henwood's Golden Pi-armain, Red Caldwell, and Peasgoods Non-uch. One of the lattet apples turns the scalp at over 18oz,, in fact is very nearly l£lb. The Pippins and Pearmains are aKo large, symetrical, and very sound. We understand Mr Hawkins has had a very good crop of fruit this season ; and purposes greatly extending his present operations, for which purpose he has just leased five acres of additional land, olose to Te Aroha township, which will be hi ought into cultivation and planted with all possible despatch.
