JESUS ONLY. Mali. xvii. S.
This is all that God gives tho sinner for his salvation. It is not- Jems and "do tho best we can," noi Jesus and the " mean^ of grace;" but it is "Jesus only" who is r,he sinner's S.iviour. It is all-important that we should be clear on tin-* point, Thoie le many whoare willing to include Je^us, a" One whose help they need to biine them nitjh to God ; but they will not allow that it is " Jesu<» only " who must s-ave. Otheis co a step further, and would wHinjrly give Je a ua the h'rst and hijrheot plnce in the work of their salvation, but, like Peter when he purposed to build tabernacle on the holy hill, they want to give others a plnce alongside of Jt,«us — a very much infeiior place it may be, but still it is not — "Jesus onty."
