The approaching general elections are exciting a great deal of interest. Mr D. GiUies, the Premier, in his address to the electors, enumerates the chief points of the Government policy as follows :—: — 111 1 is proposed to reduce the duly on lea, and abolish the duties on coffee, cocoa, kerosene, and on probate up to a certain value. It is also proposed to reduce the Itttei postage to one penny. Tr>e Government intend to giant bonuses to producing industries to ihe extent of a quarter o( a million pounds, and devote *o \he purposes of, fostering the agricultural industries.
