ST. JOSEPH'S CHURCH CONCERT.
The concert in aid of the funds of St. Joseph's Church, Te Aroha, which was held on Saturday evening, was a decided SUCSess, both finftiiemlly, ami <is far as the singing was concerned, each of the pieces being rendered in good style, and in several instances elicited an encore. Miss E. Wainwright's singing was really good ; Miss Cocks also sang in good style ; whilst Master H. To nape came out well in his comic song, "Are you there Moriarity." Miss Berber* singinsr also deserves special mention. Th<» Hall was very tastefully decorated fo w tho occasion, and lit up with a variety of coloured Chinese lanterns. Altogether the whole entertainment reflected great credit on the painstaking and energetic Societary, Mr P. Faes, who worked hard to make the entertainment a success, and we are pleased to see that his efforts were rewarded with a bumper house. The Rev Father Keogh occupied the chair. The concert commenced shortly aFter eight o'clock, and the following programmt was gone through : — Duet, Miss Beamish and Mr Lodge ; song, " Old Songs," Miss Y. Pavitt ; song, " Cows in the Corn," Miss Cocks (encore); song, Miss E. Wainwright (encore) ; song, "Scenes that are brightest," Miss Berger; song, (comic), " Are you there Moriarity," Master Harry Tonge, (encore) ; song, Miss Cocks ; song, Miss Berger. At the olose of the concert the Hall was cleared for dancing, which was kept up with spirit till midnight. The music, supplied by various members of the Te Aroha Brass band, gave every satisfaction.
