' The approaching general elections are exciting a great deal oF interest. Gillies, the Premier, in an address to the electors, enumerates the chief points of Government policy as follows :—lt: — It is , proposed to raduce the duty on tea ; abolish the duty on coffee, cocoa, kerosene j and an prolate up to certain value. It is also proposed to reduce the letter postage to one penny. The Government intend to grant bonuses to producing industries to the extent of a quarter of million pounds, and devote £467,000 to the purpose of fostering agricultural industrie.
