INTERVIEW WITH MR GLADSTONE. London, March 6.
During on interview with a representative of the "Pall Mall Gazette," Mr Gladstonestated that he intended to adopt a neutral attitude towards the Government until he saw what proposals they bad to make for the settlement of the Irish Question. He expressed a fear that the Liberal-Unionists would preveut an}' concession being brought forward by the Tories ; but as for himself he would heartily welcome a settlement no matter from what quaiter it came. Mr J. Aird, Conservative member for No i th Paddington, in a letter to the "Time?," appeals to both parties to appoint a mixed committee of the House of Commons to consider the Home Rule question, with a view to endeavour to anive at some settlement.
