THE AFGHAN QUESTION. BRITISH OFFICERS TO BE APPOINTED. Calcutta, March 2.
It is believed that the Imperial Government are undecided as to the measures to adopt in Afghanistan, and are now debating the question of appointing British officers at Balkh, Mairnena, and Herat. It is thought the Ameer will agree to this step.
